The Roman Empire
All chores are to be done in the room. No C&P. They are to be copied and pasted to the message board, including the time stamps for each post. Make them descriptive and pleasing. Have fun with them. You are in a Palace, there are many things that can be done to keep a slave busy. No household/domesticus slave is exempt from doing chores. You are required at this time to do at the least one chore a week and post it to the slave board as well as any sexual serves or especially erotic other sorts of serves. If your personal Master or Mistress gives you a special chore to perform, it will be done in addition to these. Use your imagination, let it lead you in things to do. Think of the things you would do in your own home and do them here but adjust them to the time period. IE: at home you vacuum here use a broom or a cloth mop. 1) First and foremost, the coffee will be checked at least once an hour when we are busy. And when we aren't, it will be remade at least every 2 hrs. When it is made will be posted on the message board. 2) Beds of the Dominii and your own will be changed and remade each day. The Dominii's bed will receive fresh crisp linens each day. The slaves will changes theirs at least as often or every other day. They will be laundered and hung out to dry when changed. 3) In the Palace, the windows will be cleaned once a week. This means using hot soapy water and clean cloths to dry. The drapes will be taken down and washed at least once a month and changed. They will be checked for need of repairs. 4) Once a week all bottles of wine will be pulled and dusted. And also checked for tampering. At the start of each day three bottles at the least will be brought out and placed on the kitchen counter. 5) The stables will be cleaned out once a week. This is to include providing fresh water in the barrels and fresh oats being brought in from the fields during the months when it is grown and stored in the dry barrels. Each stall is to be mucked of horse leavings, and fresh hay placed for their comfort. 6) Once a week or more, if a Dominus or Domina asks, all horses will be groomed. They will be brushed down and their hooves scraped clean. Their winter blankets will be washed once a week and thoroughly dried before being placed back on them. 7) All floors not
covered by large rugs will be swept and mopped every week.
This includes the Chambers and small hall ways.
8) All rugs will be gathered
when the floors are mopped and taken out of doors and
beaten and checked for any damage or wear. If any is found
they will be fixed if they can be done so that the mending isn't
visible. If it is too bad they will be replaced. New rugs can
be either found in the storage room off from the kitchen or off
from the dungeons.
9) Once a day the children
in the Palace will be bathed and played with after being put into fresh
clothing, they are NPC (which means that they are NOT roleplayed by someone actually opening a browser window and using their name in a room, but only spoken of by another chatter. This is VERY important as the chat server rules say that ALL Played Characters ~those whose names show on the namelist in the room and on the whochat~ in the adult sections MUST be both played by an adult in RT and also, must be of adult age In Character) until they are grown adults so your way of interacting
with them will need to be altered periodically.
10) Once every two weeks the
chariots used by the Imperator and the guards will be brought from the
stable sheds out past the stabled horses and washed. The gold on
them will be polished and tended to as needed.
The axles will receive a good dosing of grease to keep them turning freely
as well.
11) The Imperator's armor will
be brought out once a week and shined to is most brilliant. It will
show the pride of being owned by the Imperator. On special occasions
the Augusta will do it herself, but at the Imperator's
bidding.
12) The kitchen will be completely
cleaned at least once a week. This will be a joint effort of ALL
slaves. Walls, cupboards, sinks, floors, All will be
washed.
13) All the torches and lanterns
will be filled with fuel each day. The wicks will be checked to be sure that they are long enough to burn for the evening and
well into the night. Wood for the fireplace will be split and
brought in when well seasoned. No Pine will be used as it is a fire hazard.
All chores will be at least five (5) lines long, the more the better. Be descriptive of your work. Make it enticing, tempting, exciting to read for everyone. Describe what your body looks like doing it, how it moves. The smells, the feeling of things, if they are rough, smooth, slick or sticky. All of this and more can add immensely to how your posts are enjoyed by all concerned and how well you are understood in what you are trying to say you are doing. Not only in chores, but also in serves and many other aspects of the roleplay in the room. One thing that may help you to describe what you are doing in text is to watch yourself move in the mirror performing similar things and to simply sit down and take the time to describe your face's features just for yourself as if you are trying to give a police officer a good enuff description of someone so they can be caught. The possiblities are endless and you don't have to limit yourself where you are now, but grow and enjoy stretching to new horizons all the better to add to the fun for you and everyone else in Rome.
