On this page you will find a full description and example of what a Roman slave's collar will look like and what each part of it means. Nothing is to be added or taken away from the collar unless your Master/Mistress orders it to be done, or unless the Imperator or Augusta orders it.  Each slave will always wear their collar when they come to the room even if it is for but a few moments.

This is the correct way for a Roman slaves collar to read.  Each and every slave will have their owner's name or initials, their service ability, slave type, their sexual orientation and the house/room tag as well.

1)  Your name.  You will wear the name you are given if it is changed from what you came wearing, or you will wear the one you came with the way it should be, no abbreviations or alterations unless it is approved.

2)  The actual collar. This is the name or initials of your owner, it will be whatever your owner decides his or her collar will read.  It too will not be changed or altered in any way unless they say.

3)  Type of serve.  This lets everyone know what type of service you may offer.

~as~
This is an any or all serve tag. Meaning you are able to serve any Dominii or play with another slave sexually along with food and drink among other things.

~ls~
This is a list serve tag. You will still serve food and drink but your Master or Mistress will provide you with a list of who you may serve sexually.  When in a list serve collar, the Imperator and Augusta are automatically included in the list.

~rs~
This is a restricted serve tag.  You will still serve food and drink as above, but you will only serve your owner sexually.  Unless they offer your service to another.

~RLS~
This is a Royal List Serve tag.

~ts~
This is your training collar tag when you are in the Imperial collar. You may serve food and drink and may please sexually, but are restricted to orally or with your hands only, plus will be wearing a chastity belt to prevent intercourse. 

Other non sexual services may be offered while in any collar i.e.: massages, bathing and such, but discretion must be used on how descriptive you get.  If you are restricted you would just wash and leave the body description to a bare minimum, as with a list serve unless the Dominii is one on your list or a restricted serve unless it is your owner.

4)  This is your sexual orientation.  This is to keep embarrassing events at a minimum.

 5) This is your slave type tag in latin.  At the time we have two types of slaves.  Either you are a domesticus/household slave or you are a gladiatore/fighting slave.  The serva and servus indicate your gender in latin for slave.  Therefore you have:

6)  This is your House Tag.  It denotes the House in Rome which your owner belongs to, if any.  This changes only if your owner changes their House allegiance. Note:  ALL {Imperial} collared slaves belong to the Imperator's House denoted by HS.

7)  This is your room tag.  It shows people from the other rooms where you are from.  You will wear this at all times.
 

There were many different positions for slaves in Ancient Rome.  There were slaves who were trained to either barber or to be hairdressers, there were slaves who were scribes or librarians, there were slaves who were midwives or even physicans, there were slaves who were weavers or clothes cleaners and all sorts of other functions which the slave specialized in like a job.  Currently we are working on a list of slave jobs for each slave to have just as the Dominii in the room have jobs to do.  Once this list of jobs with the latin name and description is compiled and ready, thor and alli shall go over the listings with each slave in Rome and help them to make a choice as to what they would like to do based on what is needed as well as natural talents or interests on the part of the slave.  Of course this shall mean another tag for the slaves who take a job.  They shall most likely be arranged something like this then.

The job title will be placed between the slave gender word and the type of slave one.  In this case the word lanista refers to being the head trainer and manager for the gladiatore slaves.  You 'will' be expected to learn what your position entails and live up to that in your r/p in order to keep the job.
 
 

Finally, another thing which is in the process of development is the practise of slave mating in Rome.  Usually this will be done for the purposes of breeding more slaves, but may be at the Owner(s)'s descretion allowed for a pair of slaves to be paired in a more formal sense than merely belonging to the same Owner for example.  This is a state of Concubinage between slaves called Contubernium and not a truly lawful marriage however.  More shall be explained on the page devoted to that subject, but here are what the tags would look like for either a male or female slave:
